Since 2008, our team has helped MANY people in the Beverly and Newburyport area ranging from the young weekend warrior to the middle aged “out of shape” parent or grandparent improve their performance. With over 40 years of combined clinical experience, you will receive expert, evidence-based care which means that you are in physical therapy less, not more. Our focus is entirely on YOU. We don’t double book. We only provide 1-on-1 physical therapy or performance based services that are customized to YOUR needs. We focus on your goals and get you better… faster than traditional physical therapy clinics.
We want to hear about YOU! We want to get a detailed history of your condition and hear about your goals so that we can align our expectations.
On the day of your initial evaluation you will experience a movement assessment unlike any you have experienced before. We will use functional, manual and performance based testing to get to the root cause of your pain or limitation.
We will give you a thorough explanation of our findings, provide a goal-based plan of care and follow up with a detailed report of findings.
Treatment begins on Day 1. We waste no time! We will start with the education that you need to start your journey in optimizing your health.
In our traditional PT model of care, there are several insurance companies that we accept and several others that we do not. Please call to inquire. For those of you whose insurance we do not accept, we are considered an out-of-network provider and we cannot bill your insurance directly. This non-traditional cash based model is actually a really good thing because it allows us to make decisions that are best for YOU… and not simply what’s best for the insurance company. In many cases, our patients get 50 to 80% reimbursed depending on their out-of-network insurance benefits. We can provide a “superbill” for you to submit for reimbursement. You can also use your health savings account (HSA) or flex spending account (FSA). We typically see our clients for half the number of visits of other in-network providers. We will save you a ton of time getting you better…faster. You will get the same provider each time you come in and have complete one on one contact with them the entire time you are here. If you have a high deductible, we can actually SAVE you money.
If we accept your insurance in the traditional model of care, then we will bill your insurance company directly excluding any copays, coinsurance or deductibles. For our non-traditional, cash based services, we expect payment on or before the day of service. We accept cash, checks or credit card. You can save money by purchasing packages for our 60 minute or 30 minute treatment sessions in 4-5 or 6+ treatment bundles. The cost of the initial evaluation is the same cost as our 60 minute sessions. If you decide to join our Concierge PT program, then you can opt-in to monthly billing or save money by paying for the annual plan. As mentioned above, you can check with your insurance company regarding out-of-network coverage. You can learn more about that by clicking HERE .We can provide you with a Superbill for the list of services provided that you can submit directly to your insurance company. You also have the option in applying for a no interest, up to 2 year loan from our lending company, Care Credit. You can click HERE .
In our non-traditional, cash based model, our system of care allows us to treat you the way that is NEEDED to get the best results. In our clinic, we are trying to solve complex problems that necessitate 1 on 1 treatment. We treat many people that have had unsuccessful outcomes in other clinics. We can treat your WHOLE body. Not just those areas that were “approved” by your insurance company. We don’t treat three or four patients an hour or provide a watered down, cookie cutter version of physical therapy. Our model of 1 on 1 care is a way for us to ensure the best, quickest result.
By being more engaged in your care with our non-traditional ,cash based model, you require LESS physical therapy. Your total number of visits depends upon the nature of your problem. Is it acute or chronic? Most orthopedic, overuse injuries in physical therapy take 6 weeks to achieve at least 90% improvement. Chronic conditions can take longer. Our recommendation for acute conditions is to embrace the physiologic healing effect and schedule 1 time per week for 6 weeks for our 60 minute, 1 on 1 sessions. Chronic conditions can take up to 3 months to get complete resolution of symptoms and for these conditions we recommend at least 10 sessions with the initial 6 sessions scheduled at 1 time per week followed by 1 session every 2 weeks for the 8 weeks.
In our non-traditional, cash based model the duration of your treatment session is entirely up to you. We schedule 30 minute or 60 minute sessions. Our best results would be achieved with 60 minute sessions each week in order to optimize your therapeutic effects. You also have the option to schedule 30 minute sessions that would be focused on manual therapy. These shorter sessions would not allow us appropriate time to enhance the benefit of the manual therapy with condition specific exercise or performance training.
In both the traditional and non-traditional models of care, your treatment will be dependent upon the results of your comprehensive evaluation and movement analysis. Your sessions will be a combination of manual therapy, exercise and performance based training. Your treatment interventions will be determined by your therapist to maximize your recovery and achieve your goals. You can read about all of your options in the Services drop down in the menu above. Every week, your treatment will be advanced based upon presentation of symptoms and your response to treatment.
The BIG difference between the two professions is Only licensed physical therapists can evaluate and diagnose your condition. If you don’t know WHAT the problem is, then HOW are you going to effectively treat it? At OrthoWell we combine the BEST of physical therapy, hands-on manual therapy AND performance or physical training… all in a single visit. So what do YOU think is your better choice?
The reason is that insurance companies have set the price for manual therapy LOWER than exercise! Manual therapy is one of the most skilled interventions that we can provide but it’s reimbursed at one of the lowest rates. Can you make sense of that one? At OrthoWell, we have worked extremely hard to refine our hands-on, manual therapy skills because we know that it gets our patients better…faster!
