Join the Community Jam

Come as a Delegation
Share your story, be inspired by new ideas, and be a part of an emerging global network of social innovators and changemakers.

You will have an opportunity to showcase your work, learn from others, strengthen your partnerships, and create a cross-Canada and international network of support among like-minded individuals working to build smart and caring communities. The Community Jam brings the best of design thinking with the lessons of Aboriginal peoples teachings, by enabling learning through the act of doing, seeing, talking and sharing.

By participating, you will be helping to lay the groundwork for building smart, caring, and engaged communities through forging new relationships and strengthening existing ones. You will spark new ideas for activities in your community, while learning about the innovative practices in communities next door, and around the world.

What is a delegation?
It is a group of 3 or more people that may reflect existing partnerships or they may be a new collaboration formed to attend the C2UExpo 2017. Delegations can include faculty, students or staff of a post secondary institution, a philanthropic partner (e.g. community foundation, private foundation, business or institutional funding partner), a member of a community organization, an Aboriginal partner, and a local government and/or private sector partner. Delegations represent a diverse group of individuals such as community, campus, and philanthropic partnerships that take an innovative approaching for social good.

If you are interested in joining as a delegation, contact Grace Lee at eunhyel@sfu.ca

Can I come as an individual?
The Community Jam is also open to up to 100 “free radicals"– enablers who help to create the conditions that allow smart and caring communities to thrive. You could be a philanthropist, from the private sector, a community organizer, a municipal official, an Aboriginal thought-leader, or a community-engaged academic who is actively involved in creating a strong community.

If you want to help create a lasting legacy with others like yourself at an interactive and inspiring learning exchange, join the Community Jam by registering here.
